Admissions Process for Junior Achievers (ages 7-11), Family Training, Teenagers, and Adults

DISCLAIMER: Training and practicing in the martial arts is inherently dangerous. All training, with exception of practicing Patterns as explained by the instructors of this Academy, should be pursued only in the controlled environment and under the supervision of a trained instructor.

Admissions Process – for Little Dragons (ages 3-6)

Thank you for your interest in our martial arts training and education programs. We believe that choosing a martial arts school is an important life-transforming family decision. As such, our 5-step Admissions Process is designed to ensure the right fit between you and your child/children and our academy through information and experience.

Step 1: Sign up on our Waiting List

Due to the popularity of our programs in our community and our positive reputation as the first-established school in Kanata since 1986, you will be required to place your name on our Waiting List. If you are referred to us by an existing member, then we will place you on our Family and Friends Priority List. We will contact you once there are availabilities in our programs.

Step 2: Attend a FREE Pre-Registration and Information Session

Once there are availabilities in our programs, you will be invited to attend this session, which is by appointment or invitation only.

During this session, we will go through the following:

• Welcome and Introduction

• A tour of our state-of-the-art training facility

• Complete and sign Application Form

• Question and Answer Period

• Write your name on our Sign-Up Sheet for your child's FREE Introductory Classes the following week

Step 3: Have Your Child Try Out 2 FREE Trial Classes

You can have your child try out 2 FREE trial Taekwon-Do classes. This is a no-risk opportunity to:

• See if your child enjoys the classes

• Give you the opportunity to see the life-enhancing benefits of this program for your child, and

• Allow us to give you an assessment as to your child’s readiness for this exclusive program.  The head instructor will admit you and your child at our academy based on how serious and committed you both are to your self-improvement and on having a positive attitude and positive energy to bring to our academy.

During this step, you will also be asked to Complete our Admissions Questionnaire.  The purpose of this questionnaire is to determine your personal goals and if you meet our student/parent requirements. This is also an opportunity to gain more information about our academy’s values, processes, and policies. Please note that what you share with us will be kept confidential.

Step 4: Select Your Tuition Program

By now, you should be able to make an informed decision about investing in your and/or your child’s personal growth and development. We offer generous family discounts and excellent value-added tuitions for our premier martial arts training and education programs. Remember, the best investment is in yourself!

Step 5: Purchase Your Starter Bundle

Your child will receive everything he or she needs to get started:

• Write a cheque for $19.95+GST=$21.15 to "Black Belt Excellence Inc." for your Introductory Classes (Note: Please remember to bring your cheque book)

• Question and Answer Period

• Write your name on our Sign-Up Sheet for your Introductory Classes the following week

Step 3: Attend Your Introductory Classes

For an investment of $19.95+GST=21.35, you will have the no-risk opportunity to train in Taekwon-Do and enjoy 2 dynamic Taekwon-Do classes, which usually take place within the first two weeks of the month.

During this step, you will also be asked to Complete our Admissions Questionnaire.  The purpose of this questionnaire is to determine your personal goals and if you meet our student/parent requirements. This is also an opportunity to gain more information about our academy’s values, processes, and policies. Please note that what you share with us will be kept confidential.

By the end of the 2nd trial class, we should all be ready for a 3-way decision-making process: 1) see how much you and/or your child/children enjoyed the classes, 2) do you, as the parent(s), recognize the value in investing in our martial arts training and education program 3) if the Head Instructor admits you and/or your child/children to our academy based on how serious and committed you are to your self-improvement and on having a positive attitude and positive energy to bring to our academy.
